Six by Nine Online Services has disclosed user data to government authorities without the user's consent. Specifically:

On 7 October 2023, we became aware of graphic child sexual abuse material (CSAM) uploaded to a public, unencrypted Matrix room by a user on our Matrix server. The user was banned from our services and all their uploaded media was removed from public access. In accordance with our obligations as an Electronic Service Provider under 18 USC 2258A, we filed a report with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) that included a list of media IDs, checksums, and client device IP addresses associated with the user. NCMEC makes this data available to international law enforcement agencies. We were unable to notify the user of this action because they did not provide an email address when registering their Matrix account.

Six by Nine Online Services has not been compelled to disclose user data to any government authority except as described above. We have not received any warrants or been the subject of any searches. To the best of our knowledge, the 4d2 dot org servers, logs and PGP keys are under our exclusive control.
